Prams Level 2R (R is for Race) is an expeditionary class for students who have completed Prams Level 1 and 2 and who are interested in learning basic racing skills in order to represent MCSC while sailing one of MCSC’s four Opti dinghies in South Shore Yacht Club’s popular “Kaszube Cup” regatta.

In this course‚ students will learn and practice basic racing skills including starting and sailing a race‚ sailing upwind and downwind‚ rounding marks and applying sailing’s "rules-of-the-road" in a sailboat race. Then‚ with their instructors as guides‚ the class will travel to and compete in the regatta‚ setting up and launching the sailboats‚ racing two days (weather permitting)‚ and then de-rigging to return to debrief and celebrate on the final day (Thursday). MCSC representatives will sail in the Kaszube “green” fleet‚ for less experienced racers. The emphasis on this class will not be on competition or the pressure to win‚ but instead‚ on working together as a team‚ meeting other young sailors‚ having fun‚ making friends and memories and sailing in another place.

Regatta registration and meal tickets are included in the registration fees.
