The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center is celebrating its 40th year and hosting a benefit to provide funding for our STEM Education and programs for youth and the physically, mentally and financially disadvantaged. Through this benefit, we will provide funding to continue and expand programs including:

  • STEM Education – Expand a proven and tested curriculum to three middle schools in 2018. We take our program into the schools followed by hands-on learning at the Sailing Center and opportunities to test their knowledge by sailing on Lake Michigan.
  • Youth Program – Provide sailing opportunities and scholarships to youth to learn sailing from as young as eight through their teens on a variety of centerboard and keel boats. The program teaches problem solving, team building and leadership under ever-changing weather and sea conditions.
  • Disadvantaged Program – MCSC annually hosts over 1,000 individuals from youth through adults with an opportunity to experience sailing for the first time. The Sailing Center partners with organizations including the Curative, Goodwill Industries, and the Milwaukee Center for Independence as well as community groups for special outings to provide a fun and educational experience.
